A great big THANK YOU to all of our athletes, families, friends, and volunteers who came to support today’s Young Athletes Experience!
To cap off our wonderful afternoon together, we all took a trip to The Blue and enjoyed the Idaho sunshine!
Another successful, inclusive event put on by S.O. College at Boise State!
We can’t help but share this awesome write-up by AC Shilton. Read here about what she learned about herself as an athlete when volunteering for a local Special Olympics event.
Bravo, AC! Couldn’t have put it better ourselves!
Congratulations to SO College at BSU and Lisa Beymer’s ED-SPED 250 students for collecting 461 pledge signatures at this year’s SPREAD THE WORD TO END THE WORD Rally on the Quad!
That’s 461 faculty, students, and staff on Boise State’s campus that have pledged never to use the R-word in their vocabulary again.
To date, we have collected a total of 1,080 signatures in 6 hours to end the r-word! Way to go, SO College!!!
Just 10 days from now, SO College members will be loading on a bus, headed to Sun Valley to help with this year’s Special Olympics Winter Games!
We can’t wait! We’ll have updates and information for you out this week.
We are proud to announce our Fantastic February Fundraiser!
SO College Boise State has been offered the opportunity to host an online shop filled with customized jewelry from Origami Owl! From now until February 28th, 15% of anything you order from Origami Owl will be donated straight to SO College Boise State! There are also extended options for anyone interested in hosting an in-home party.
Get yourself or your sweetheart a darling customized piece of jewelry for Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or a Monday! Simultaneously, you’ll help our SO College members participate in community-wide activities advocating for our friends with and without disabilities
Please visit our Origami Owl online outlet here to shop! (You can also find our flyer under the Event Items > Opportunities & Sign-Up link.) Every thought, penny, and dollar is appreciated!
We look forward to seeing you all in just a few hours for our February Club Meeting!
The meeting will be from 2 – 3pm, held in the Education Building room 523. Our major discussion point will be Winter Games, coming up at the end of this month!
Hope to see you all there!
An opportunity has presented itself for a coaching position for a local Special Olympics team!
Dr. Sara Fry at Boise State University is interested in having a second coach for her snowshoe/cross country team. The team practices weekly on Saturdays, meeting at 9am to go to Bogus and getting back into Boise around 1pm.
This sounds like a great opportunity get further involved with Special Olympics Idaho, and complete your volunteer hours for SO College BSU!
Please let Marissa or Lisa know if you’re interested.
We have exciting news!
Our first-ever SO College BSU fundraiser is happening on Tuesday, February 4th at 7pm. The Idaho Stampede has been kind enough to host a Special Olympics College Group Night to help raise money for our trip to volunteer for Special Olympics Winter Games. A portion of each ticket sold (which are only $10!!) will go straight to SO College BSU.
We would love to see you spread the word about this fun night out, and for only $10 a ticket you could bring the whole family!
Contact information for Travis Forrest is on the flyer. Contact him to reserve tickets, or fill out the form and fax it in.
We can’t wait to see you there!
