Young Athletes Experience SUCCESS

Young Athletes Experience SUCCESS

A great big THANK YOU to all of our athletes, families, friends, and volunteers who came to support today’s Young Athletes Experience!
To cap off our wonderful afternoon together, we all took a trip to The Blue and enjoyed the Idaho sunshine!

Another successful, inclusive event put on by S.O. College at Boise State!

“Rediscovering My Athlete’s Heart”

We can’t help but share this awesome write-up by AC Shilton.  Read here about what she learned about herself as an athlete when volunteering for a local Special Olympics event.

Bravo, AC!  Couldn’t have put it better ourselves!

Congratulations to SO College at BSU and Lisa Beymer’s ED-SPED 250 students for collecting 461 pledge signatures at this year’s SPREAD THE WORD TO END THE WORD Rally on the Quad!

That’s 461 faculty, students, and staff on Boise State’s campus that have pledged never to use the R-word in their vocabulary again.

To date, we have collected a total of 1,080 signatures in 6 hours to end the r-word!  Way to go, SO College!!!

10 days….

10 days....

Just 10 days from now, SO College members will be loading on a bus, headed to Sun Valley to help with this year’s Special Olympics Winter Games!

We can’t wait! We’ll have updates and information for you out this week.

Fantastic February Fundraising!

We are proud to announce our Fantastic February Fundraiser!

SO College Boise State has been offered the opportunity to host an online shop filled with customized jewelry from Origami Owl!  From now until February 28th, 15% of anything you order from Origami Owl will be donated straight to SO College Boise State!  There are also extended options for anyone interested in hosting an in-home party.

Get yourself or your sweetheart a darling customized piece of jewelry for Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or a Monday!  Simultaneously, you’ll help our SO College members participate in community-wide activities advocating for our friends with and without disabilities

Please visit our Origami Owl online outlet here to shop!  (You can also find our flyer under the Event Items > Opportunities & Sign-Up link.)  Every thought, penny, and dollar is appreciated!

2014 Penguin Plunge!

We wanted to let you know about an awesome fundraising opportunity coming up that benefits Special Olympics Idaho. The event is the Penguin Plunge and it will take place on Saturday, February 1st at Eagle Island State Park. Participants will gather pledges leading up to the event and then plunge into the icy cold water in support of Special Olympics Athletes!
SO College has already started a team to plunge together and we want you on it! Click HERE to visit the fundraising page for this event, and then click “Join Now”. This will take you to a registration page where you will input your information and join the SO College Team.
Once you are part of the team, start gathering pledges! Share your profile URL on Facebook and send it to friends and family via email to help you start fundraising. This is a fun, easy way to show support for Special Olympics Idaho and promote the SO College Club at Boise State University.
Please see documents under our Event Items > Opportunities & Sign Up (on this site) for further event information. If you have any questions, please contact Kelsey Solberg, Development at Special Olympics Idaho,
